[Update] I'm... back.

So, I'm here to announce my triumphant!return! after unceremoniously dropping off the face of the earth two months ago. What happened, you ask? Well, let's see. I had a slew of AP exams to slog through- something I'd rather put behind me right now. Then it was college orientation time, which ate a good chunk of my (well, my parents', actually) wallet. And finally it was graduation practice, yearbook, and crying-because-we'll-never-see-each-other-again-but-not-really time.
And lo and behold, here I am, finally emerging from the storm, (fairly) unscathed, and ready to make my grand re-entrance to the blogosphere! As they say in the K-Pop world, I'm preparing for my Comeback Stage!
and what exactly will that consist of? Well, I have a couple things in mind:

1) the long-awaited sixth chapter of "Is it an Idol?", which delves into the darker half of Azami's past.

2)I'll throw a couple reviews in here and there from now on. First up will probably be a drama I just finished watching, Sunao ni Narenakute. Other than that I'm open to Kpop, Jpop, Cpop, and dramas. Let me know what you would like to see!

But first to recap a little:
The poll closed (old news, huh?) with a grand total of 7 votes! Well, I'm glad SOMEONE cares enough about this story to vote on the trailer. One person voted "Other" and six voted "LOVED IT! WHERE'S THE NEXT CHAPTER!" thanks for the support guys! The chapter's been a bit delayed, but expect it very soon now that I'm back!

Also, Jae's debut song sort of fell through while I was MIA, unfortunately, but I am perfectly willing to start it up again. Right now I'm more focused on advancing the story, but if you would like to send in auditions, feel free to do so (lines are in the previous post, disregard the deadlines etc.)
I also added a new poll in the sidebar, so make sure you check it out and vote before July 20th!

Also, notice anything different? How do you guys like the new layout ;)?

[Aidoru Kana?] New trailer and poll!

So in my shameless attempts of self-promotion, I've created a snazzy trailer for Aidoru Kana? between school, computer spazzes, and grouchy parents, this almost-a-minute-long trailer took me four days to make! Phew!

Love it? Hate it? Let me hear it in the new poll in the sidebar!

it will be open from today until the end of April :)

the trailer has also been added to the AK? Masterlist page for your future viewing pleasure.

look forward to a new installment of Idoru Kana, featuring the mysterious actor coming very soon!

Ohayou Gozaimasu!

No, I'm not going to adjust that if you're reading this in the afternoon, evening, or at night. Sorry. In Japanese show biz, "Ohayou gozaimasu" is the standard greeting no matter what time of day it is.
On a less jerkface note however, welcome to "Aidoru Kana?"! This blog will be somewhat experimental. I'll probably be posting a narrative VERY loosely based on the lives (or what we know) of real Japanese idols. I plan on focusing on both male and female idols, and try to take their perspective on the trials of their daily lives both personal and professional. Yes, this is going to be dramatic, although hopefully not disgustingly so.
I was inspired to create this fiction-based blog because of several articles on both the inglorious lives of idols as well as the underbelly of the Japanese entertainment industry. With any luck, I can inject some insightfulness as I explore the darker underbelly of the idol factory.
Also, I considered including other idols in the mix, such as American stars... but any way youo look at it, Japanese idols have much more of an "extreme" lifestyle in terms of contracts, privacy (or lack thereof), and probably their pay as well (I would wager that Momusu and maybe even Johnnys earn less than Disney Channel regulars).
Don't get me wrong. I love the concept of idols and their everlasting cheerfulness and the like, but it is justly because I love them that I feel compelled to find out more about the way they truly live, and perhaps spin articles of dry information into a more compelling narrative.

Next post will feature a few of the main characters in the story "Aidoru Kana?"
